Our Story: The Evolution of Superior Dent Solutions

Superior Dent Solutions, founded by AJ Ahmed and Stephen Mannino, began as a specialized Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) shop with a focus on auto hail restoration. In 2022, we officially opened our doors in Austin, TX, but quickly realized that the local climate demanded a more robust approach.

As Central Texas hailstorms grew in frequency and severity, the damage our customers faced became more complex—often exceeding the limits of PDR alone. In the past, we subcontracted auto body and glass work to external specialty shops. While this worked initially, it often led to slower repair times, the hassle of multiple insurance claims, and unnecessary frustration for our clients.

To better serve the Austin community, we evolved. We transitioned from a specialized PDR boutique to a state-of-the-art, all-inclusive restoration center. By bringing a full-service auto body and paint department—along with a dedicated glass repair and replacement team—entirely in-house, we eliminated the middleman. We are proud to be Austin’s first truly full-service hail repair center, offering a seamless, one-stop solution for every level of storm damage.

Meet the Owners

AJ Ahmed, Owner

AJ comes from a sales and hospitality background. He attended the University of Kansas. From there, he went on to work as a Craps and Poker dealer in Las Vegas and San Diego. AJ then transitioned into a hospitality role, managing and bartending at busy nightclubs.

Around 2009, AJ began doing sales with AT&T and eventually worked his way up to run an outside sales branch for them. In 2013, AJ transitioned into the Auto Hail Repair industry, managing a sales team on a national level and then eventually running branches for his former employer.

In 2016 AJ decided to partner up with Stephen to create Superior Dent Solutions. With over 10 years of experience in the industry, AJ is committed to growing his business and making sure everything is done with integrity. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife Andrea and 2 dogs, snowboard or sip frozen drinks on a Mexican beach.

Stephen Mannino, Owner

Stephen comes from a sports background. He attended UMKC on a soccer scholarship and graduated with a Graphic Design degree. After college he went on to get into coaching and sales. He began his sales experience for Johnson Brothers Distributing for 3 years before getting into the hail industry with AJ.

After being committed to the industry for over 10 years, Stephen loves helping his customers, his sales team and business grow. Stephen loves to golf, watch movies and hang out with his dog Wallace when he gets some free time.
